Simco-Ion orION Ionizing Air Nozzle
Simco-Ion orION™ Air Ionizing Nozzle is a compressed-air ionization system designed for fixed, point-of-use applications where controlled delivery of ionized air is required. It is widely used in manufacturing and assembly processes to neutralize electrostatic charge on parts and particles, enabling more effective cleaning, improved handling, and reliable ESD control.
A defining feature of the orION™ system is its remote operation architecture. The ionizing nozzle is paired with a separate control module. The control module can be triggered by a foot switch, optical sensor, or by customer equipment. This flexibility allows the orION™ system to support everything from simple manual workstations to advanced automated processes where ionized air delivery is synchronized with machine operation or part presence. This design is a key reason orION™ is selected for production environments, as it supports hands-free operation, and straightforward integration into automated or semi-automated equipment.
In cleaning applications, neutralizing static charge on both parts and particles allows debris to be removed more efficiently. Static-neutral conditions reduce the forces that cause particles to cling to surfaces, resulting in better cleaning results, improved consistency, and reduced effort compared to non-ionized air. While cleaning is the most common application, the orION™ nozzle is also used wherever controlled ionized airflow supports process stability and product quality.
