Charged Plate Monitor, Model 280A
Simco-Ion Model 280A Charge Plate Monitor (CPM) is a portable instrument used to evaluate ionizer performance by measuring charge decay time and ion balance using the charged plate method. It is designed to more accurately measure the performance of high-frequency AC ionizers, as well as pulsed DC and steady-state DC ionizers.
The Model 280A is built to simplify testing in open or enclosed environments. A detachable 6-inch plate and programmable automated test sequencing support remote testing capability, allowing multiple tests to be run without opening an enclosure to reset the instrument. A delayed start function helps reduce operator-induced field distortion and allows airflow to settle before the measurement begins.
The 280A supports AC line input or internal battery operation (up to 6 hours per charge) and includes onboard data archiving memory for storing over 1000 tests and more than 100 individual test locations. Built-in temperature and humidity sensors capture environmental conditions during testing, and a digital LCD display provides clear readout of results.
